TOF AND TON EVOLUTION IN HETEROGENEOUS CATALYSIS

چکیده

The review article shows the evolutionary path that turnover frequency (TOF) and number (TON) have passed from “Boreskov`s Rule” to their modern definitions. From equation catalysis rate, second method for calculating TOF is obtained using characteristics of catalyst material. Was prooved possibility obtaining in two ways - process reagents. equivalence methods calculation proved. It turned out not a complete unambiguous characteristic catalyst, as it was usually believed. only partially dependent on but “catalyst + reagents” system, its value directly depends state oxidation. proposed use list oxidation states chemical elements main tool selection catalysts. Sabatier principle limits TON values by limiting multielectron transitions when active sites changes. An explanation effect overcoming prohibition given, which external synchronous action makes possible achieve catalytic reaction speed higher than maximum.

Model studies in heterogeneous catalysis.

I review a concept that models heterogeneous catalysis based on a surface-science approach. It is shown that models catching part of the complexity of the real system, which is connected with the finite size of active components and the flexibility of the arrangement of atoms in the active component, play an important part in determining the activity and selectivity of the system. I have chosen...

Heterogeneous asymmetric catalysis*

Examples of enantioselective catalysts, including homogeneous supported catalysts and biphasic liquid/liquid, are described and compared. In the case of asymmetric hydride transfer, polythiourea was proven to be more efficient for ruthenium-catalyzed reduction of aryl ketones, although the iridium complexes gave rise to higher ee when using amino sulfonamide bound to a polystyrene matrix. In th...

Catalysis, evolution and life.

Living organisms are unique in their ability to generate and replicate ordered systems from disordered components. Generation of order, replication of the individual, and evolution of the species all depend on the successful utilization of external energy derived from chemicals and light. The information for reproduction is encoded in nucleic acids, but evolution depends on a limited variabilit...

In situ NMR spectroscopy in heterogeneous catalysis

New experimental techniques of in situ MAS NMR spectroscopy introduced in the past decade made this analytical method to a useful tool for the study of heterogeneously catalyzed reactions. Batch and flow techniques were applied to study reactions catalyzed by basic and acidic solids. The present review introduces into in situ MAS NMR investigations of transition states, e.g., via the H/D exchan...
